Multi-governorate device collection from a single coordinated operation

End-of-rental device collection in Oman presents a geography problem. Devices deployed across multiple governorates — a Muscat head office, a Sohar Free Zone branch, a Salalah project team — cannot all return through a single collection point without significant internal logistics effort from your IT team.

JD Tech Rentals coordinates multi-governorate collection as a single operation. You notify us with the go-return date and device locations; we confirm a collection schedule for each governorate. Muscat Governorate collections are within 48 working hours. Sohar and the Al Batinah corridor are typically next-day. Salalah collections are confirmed at two business days from our Muscat facility.

Oman's Personal Data Protection Law (Royal Decree No. 6/2022, effective 13 February 2023) covers personal data processed electronically. Devices returned from a rental contract contain residual data — employee files, application data, browser history — that require certified sanitisation before the device leaves your custody. Per-SSD NIST 800-88 wipe certificates are issued for every collected device, providing the documentation your IT policy and any external audit would require.

For government contractor clients, we can provide the additional documentation typically required for tender pre-qualification — covering our Oman in-country operations, NIST 800-88 compliance, and per-device certificate format. Raise your tender requirements at the start of the collection process.

Common questions

How long does collection from Salalah or Sohar actually take?

Muscat Governorate collections are within 48 working hours of your notification. Sohar and the Al Batinah coastal corridor are typically next-day. Salalah is two business days from our Muscat facility. These timelines are confirmed in writing when you notify us of the go-return date, not estimated after the fact. If your Salalah collection has a fixed deadline, flag it early so we can stage in advance.

What documentation do we receive for Oman PDPL compliance purposes?

You receive a NIST 800-88 per-SSD wipe certificate for every collected device, recording serial number, wipe method, timestamp, and pass/fail status per drive. A photo confirmation email is sent on the day of collection. Together these provide an auditable chain-of-custody record satisfying Oman PDPL's requirements for secure handling of personal data on decommissioned devices.

We are a government contractor. Can you provide documentation for an NCSI or audit requirement?

Yes. We provide a documentation package covering our Oman in-country operations, NIST 800-88 Rev.2 compliance, per-SSD certificate format, and VAT registration — the materials typically required for IT services pre-qualification in Omani government tenders. Raise your specific documentation requirements at the start of the process and we prepare the paperwork.
