Corporate Laptop Buyback Oman — Trade In Aging Hardware, Earn Rental Credits
Omani companies and government contractors with aging hardware on the books. Submit your fleet, receive a remote valuation in OMR, and convert the credits toward renting current-spec laptops from JD Tech Rentals. In-country collection from Muscat, Sohar, and Salalah. NIST wipe certificate per SSD.
How it works
Share make, model, quantity, and condition per device. Photos or a short video help but are not required at this stage.
We review your submission and confirm a credit estimate remotely (screen share or photos), or arrange a site visit if preferred.
You receive a per-device credit value and total fleet credit amount. No obligation until you accept.
Credits are deducted monthly from your rental invoice. Any unused balance at end of engagement is returned to you in cash.
What qualifies
Any device your company owns — condition and brand do not determine eligibility, they determine the credit value.
- Any laptop brand (Dell, HP, Lenovo, Apple, Acer, ASUS, others)
- Any quantity — from one device to an entire fleet
- Any condition — credit estimate adjusted per device
- Functional display and keyboard preferred; damaged units assessed individually
- Data wiped by JD Tech Rentals (NIST 800-88, per-SSD cert) or client first — either works
- Exclusively for existing JD Tech Rentals customers or prospects transitioning to managed rental

Oman's first B2B laptop buyback-to-rental program
Most IT procurement in Oman flows through Muscat resellers whose primary business is selling new hardware, not managing the transition from owned to rented. When a company's laptops age out, the options are limited: internal IT handles informal disposal, or devices sit in storage. Neither gives you certified data destruction documentation, and neither converts the residual value into anything useful.
JD Tech Rentals' buyback program is designed for companies across Oman's governorates — Muscat-headquartered businesses with branch offices in Sohar or Nizwa, free zone tenants at Sohar Port, and government contractors with hardware spread across multiple project sites. Remote assessment works regardless of location. Collection is coordinated from our Muscat facility with confirmed lead times per governorate.
Oman's Personal Data Protection Law (Royal Decree No. 6/2022, effective 13 February 2023) requires controllers to handle personal data securely on device retirement. Per-SSD NIST 800-88 wipe certificates, issued for every device in the buyback, provide the documentation required by both the Oman PDPL and any government tender or IT audit your organisation may face.

Common questions
We are based in Sohar Free Zone, not Muscat. Can you assess and collect from here?
Yes. Remote assessment (photos and screen share) works regardless of location. Physical collection from Sohar and the Al Batinah corridor is coordinated from our Muscat facility — typical scheduling is next-day for Sohar. Collection from Salalah is typically two business days. Confirm your location at quoting stage and we confirm the collection timeline.
Our rental term is only 12 months. What happens if credits aren't fully consumed?
Any credits remaining at the end of your rental engagement are returned to you in cash. You do not forfeit credits if the contract period ends before they are fully consumed. Credits are applied monthly from the start of your rental, so a larger credit balance simply means more months of offset before normal invoicing resumes.
Can you provide documentation for a government tender that requires certified data destruction?
Yes. We provide a documentation package confirming our NIST 800-88 Rev.2 wipe process, per-SSD certificate format, and Oman in-country operations — the materials typically required for IT services pre-qualification in government tenders. Raise your tender documentation requirements at quoting stage and we prepare the relevant paperwork.
